March 2013 : MIOA Acoustician joins Monowa
Monowa welcome on board Chris Wood, MIOA, a member of the Institute of Acoustics who has 20 years experience in Acoustics and is a specialist in Architectural Acoustic Design. Chris, who comes to us from the renowned Sharps Redmore consultancy, said, “this is a great step forward for me and a giant leap for Monowa”.
At Monowa’s in-house testing facility at our factory in Macclesfield we have been focusing on the in-situ sound insulation performance of our operable wall systems for the past 18 months.
The results of our product development enable us to provide a true representation of what can be expected for the client and ultimately the end user when the systems are installed, as opposed to Laboratory tests which are carried under ‘perfect conditions’.
Under our new management, and with the help of our dedicated design team, clients can be assured that all acoustic certification supplied by Monowa represents the true sound insulation performance of our operable wall systems in real life situations and are the genuine article.
February 2013 : Award Winning Project
To mark the beginning of 2013, Monowa has received congratulations from Architects, Frank Haslam and Contractor, Keepmoat for their high quality installation at Pannel Croft Retirement Village where our operable walls are a great addition to their flexible layout. We installed 2no Series 100 systems which stack neatly away when not in use into recess area’s incorporating cupboard doors which our systems can also mount on. “Their design is novel and shows initiative”.
The project has won the BCC (Birmingham City Building Control) award in the “Community” category for “Built in Quality”, and Monowa are proud to have played a part in helping Keepmoat secure this prestigious award and congratulate them on their success.
Ryan Schabel, who has recently been promoted to the position of Contracts Manager at the Macclesfield Factory, said, “I am very proud that one of my first installations has received an award and I am looking forward to managing other challenging projects in our pipeline”.
November 2012 : New Acoustics Guide
Trying to understand the complicated world of acoustic ratings and just what does Rw, DnTw, DnT (Tmf,max)w dB, Dw, DnTw + Ctr dB, all mean? Take a look at our new guide – you’ll find it under Acoustics on the top selection tabs.
We also take advice from an independent acoustician and should you have any queries regarding what to specify on a new build or what could be realistically achieved from an operable wall being installed into an existing building, Monowa would be happy to put you in touch with them. They will be honest and straight forward with you and will make the appropriate recommendations to suit your specific requirements.
Each Woodfold door is custom made to size and features a unique continuous pin hardware system applied top and bottom to ensure controlled action, suitable in either a commercial or residential situation, please contact for more details. Details to follow on the website soon.
Monowa proves its commitment to customers old and new by providing an in-house Service and Maintenance agreement to add to our portfolio, we now offer this service package to ensure that only approved experienced service engineers will carry out the work and that where any remedial work is required, only Monowa original and approved parts are used, this is essential for the continued smooth operation of our operable walls. We will be contacting all our past installations to offer this agreement so please don’t be taken in by ‘others’ claiming to be associated with Monowa unless they are on our approved sub-contractor list. Please call to confirm.
